The DNA of Music
Semitones and Whole Tones are just bricks. But if you stack them in a specific order, you build a Ladder to the stars.
The Secret Code
You have learned the two fundamental building blocks:
- W = Whole Tone
- S = Semitone
Every "Happy" sounding song (Major Key) uses the exact same pattern of these blocks. It is a universal constant.
The Blueprint (W-W-S-W-W-W-S)
This is the DNA of the Major Scale. 7 Intervals. 5 Whole Steps. 2 Half Steps.
The scale is anchored by that Semitone between E-F and B-C. Without those tight steps, the ladder falls apart.
Why C Major?
C Major is special because it follows this Blueprint naturally on the White Keys.
W (C-D), W (D-E), S (E-F), W (F-G), W (G-A), W (A-B), S (B-C).
You don't need any Black Keys (Sharps/Flats) to make the formula work! It is the "Default" setting of the piano.
MISSION: TONE WALKER
Now that you know the intervals, prove you can find them.
