You have discovered the secret loop at the heart of the system. There are only 12 unique frequencies. Everything else is a copy.
The Infinite Loop
It doesn't matter how long a piano is. It doesn't matter how many strings a guitar has. There are only 12 unique notes in our entire musical system.
After the 12th note, the pattern resets. Note #13 is just Note #1 again, but higher (an Octave).
The Structure
This endless cycle of semitones forms a circle.
